Andrew Clark, 43, was assaulted outside the supermarket on Upper Elmers End Road at around 8.30pm on March 16.
He sustained critical head injuries and died in hospital three days later.
Demiesh Williams, 30, of Fir Tree Gardens in Croydon, was charged with Andrew’s murder.
But at Woolwich Crown Court in July he entered an “acceptable” guilty plea to a lesser charge of manslaughter
Williams is set to be sentenced at the same court next week.
MP for Beckenham and Penge Liam Conlon previously said in a statement: “Police have said this appears to be a random attack following an altercation, and no weapon was involved.”
