The fire service has declared it a major incident as 150 firefighters are expected to tackle the blaze in Southall into the night.
The service was called 70 times to Bridge Road from around 9am today (November 25) with the fire visible throughout west London.
Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne, the Brigade’s Incident Commander said at the scene: “As crews carried out firefighting operations, explosions were reported at the scene.
“These explosions likely involved cylinders and fireworks stored in the affected structure.

“As a result, a major incident was declared, with additional firefighters requested to attend the scene.
“Neighbouring properties, including three schools and a residential block have been evacuated as a precaution whilst crews respond.”
The cause of the fire remains unknown as of yet.

There have been no reports of any injuries.
A large amount of smoke from the fire was widely visible and people are advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
Crews from Southall, Heston, Ealing and other fire stations arrived to find the fire already well underway.
The fire is in a two-storey structure consisting of a warehouse and retail space. Around three-quarters of the structure is currently alight and the roof has subsequently collapsed.
They were supported by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Met Police, London Ambulance Service, British Transport Police and Transport for London.
The fire brigade says its community engagement team is working with the council to support residents displaced by the incident.
Assistant Commissioner Goulbourne added: “We currently have 25 fire engines and around 150 firefighters tackling this incident, working hard to bring it under control.
“This is a protracted incident, and firefighting operations will continue into the evening.”
“I’d like to thank our firefighters, control officers and staff for their response to this incident so far, and the work they will continue to do.”
