The British Transport Police was alerted to the accident at Liverpool Street railway station shortly after 6pm on November 24.
Officers were dispatched alongside the London Ambulance Service, with a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance also in attendance.
At the scene, a man was found injured and was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
It is understood that the man fell in the station.

A spokesperson for LAS said: “We were called at 5.58pm yesterday (November 24) to reports of a person who had fallen in Liverpool Street Station, EC2M.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”
