Michael Ericksen-Tree was convicted of a number of offences committed in Welling between August and September last year.
These included making two indecent images of a child and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child by video-calling them.
He also admitted four charges of stealing postal packets in Welling.
Ericksen-Tree, 48, of Wykenham Grove in Maidstone, was sentenced at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 21.
He was given an 18-month community order, the element of punishment included in the order was a six-month 9pm curfew which will be electronically monitored.
Ericksen-Treet will be required to sign the sex offenders register for five years.
