The British Transport Police was called to a casualty on the tracks at Gloucester Road Underground station at around 9.30am today (November 24).
Officers arrived with paramedics but a man died at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
The District line and Circle line were suspended as the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Earl’s Court station was also partially closed.
Severe delays remain on the District line between Upminster and Tower Hill and the Circle line has returned to normal operation.
A BTP spokesperson: “Officers were called to Gloucester Road Underground station at 9.29am on 24 November to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
