The Metropolitan Police was called to Hornsey Rise at 11.33am this morning (November 17) with reports of the crash.
Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade were also in attendance.
London’s Air Ambulance, a charity that treats the city’s most seriously ill patients, landed in Elthorne Park.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, was treated at the scene but died a short while later.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 11:33hrs on Monday, 17 November officers, the London Ambulance Service, London’s Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade responded to reports of a road traffic collision between a lorry and pedestrian on Hornsey Rise, Islington.
“Paramedics treated the pedestrian – a woman in her 50s – at the scene. Despite their best efforts, sadly the woman died a short time later. Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“There were no other reported injuries.”
A scene remains on Hornsey Rise, near Cromartie Road. Bus routes and traffic are being diverted in both directions.
There have been no arrests at this stage.
