The crash happened at around 8.30am today (November 13) on the junction between Evelyn Street and Deptford High Street.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were despatched to the scene and a cordon was put in place.
One woman died from her injuries and a further person was treated and discharged by paramedics at the scene.
Following the incident, road closures were put in place both ways between Abinger Grove and Deptford High Street, with congestion to Greenwich back over Creek Road Bridge.
Multiple bus routes are also currently on diversion.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.22am today (13 November) to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Evelyn Street and Deptford High Street, SE8.
“We sent resources, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, a paramedic from our hazardous area response team (HART) and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. We treated another patient and discharged them at the scene.”
