Cordons were in place last Tuesday (November 4) after police were called just before 4pm to Essex Road, near Rotherfield Street.
A man in his 40s with injuries to his neck was rushed to hospital with injuries to his neck and at the time police said he remained in hospital with his condition “under assessment”.
Blood spatters were left on the seats and tables of cafes, but police at the time gave no indication on what caused the injury.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has since confirmed that an investigation is ongoing and that no arrests have been made at this stage.
“The victim is no longer in a life-threatening condition,” the force added.
However, the spokesperson failed to share further details on if a weapon was involved in this incident, despite being asked by the Islington Gazette.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or online, quoting CAD 5179/04NOV.
