The BTec learners at Barking and Dagenham College went on a day trip to Tottenham Hotspur for a university fair being staged there.
“This helped to explore university courses that I hadn’t looked at before,” student Albert Pearce said. “It made me more comfortable about applying and getting ready for university life.”
Seminars were held to open their eyes to higher education, showing the options and pathways and to think about higher education and their future goals to take the next step on their academic journey.
College tutor Lucas Michael said: “Our learners took genuine ownership of their progress and showed curiosity — exactly the mindset we encourage.”
University fairs aim to broaden horizons which reinforce the commitment at Rush Green for every learner to achieve their next steps beyond college life.
