The crash between a car and HGV happened near Sidcup at around 3.30pm today (November 5).
It has forced the A20 to close eastbound between B2173 (near Swanley) and M20/M25 due to what National Highways describes as a “serious collision”.
It adds that the air ambulance landed and has since left the scene.

The severity of any injuries following the crash is not known at this stage.
Kent Police remain at the scene to carry out a crash investigation on the eastbound carriageway.
Once completed officers, recovery and clear-up work will take place with the road expected to remain closed several hours.
The westbound carriageway was also closed but this has since reopened.
There are severe delays on the A20 to Frognal Corner Roundabout.
There are also delays through SIdcup, Swanley, Orpington and Bexley, as traffic diverts.
National Highways says that drivers are being diverted locally.
