Isaac Boateng, 32, of Downing Road, Dagenham, is due in court today (November 5) charged with weapon, driving and drug offences.
Essex Police stopped a Range Rover suspected of being driven on cloned number plates on the A12 on November 3.
Officers were informed of the report at around 8.15pm and brought the car to a stop in Brentwood.
The car was searched and a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, drug offences, and drug driving.
Boateng was since charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and possession of a Class B drug.
