Sky Live launched in the UK in June 2023, described as an interactive camera that would bring “exciting new ways to share your favourite TV with family and friends”.
Now, just two years later, Sky has announced that the “clever entertainment device” has been discontinued and will stop working on December 4.

Posting on Sky Community on Tuesday (November 4), the broadcaster and media company said: “From today, 4th November, Sky Live customers will start to be notified that Sky Live will cease to operate on 4th December.
“Innovation has always been at the heart of Sky, finding new ways to make the TV experience even better for our customers.
“Sky Live was part of that journey, and we’re proud of the ambition behind it. It’s given us valuable learnings that are helping to shape the future of our products.
“We have, however, made the difficult decision to discontinue it, in order to focus our investment on what matters most to customers.
“In the past few years, we’ve launched the next generation of Sky Glass TVs in Gen 2 & Air, which we continue to make even smarter through new updates to Sky OS.
“We have the UK’s fastest broadband speeds from any major provider, and we’ve launched 5 star rated home insurance with Sky Protect.”

Sky continued: “We understand this news may be disappointing to people who have enjoyed using Sky Live, and we’re sorry about that.”
How to claim Sky Live refund
Sky has confirmed that customers are entitled to a refund “for the value that they have paid towards their Sky Live device”.

No action is necessary, and the payment will automatically be sent to the direct debit linked to users’ Sky account.
For those who paid in full, the money will be returned to the card used to purchase within three weeks of Tuesday, November 4).
You do not need to return your Sky Live camera to receive a refund.

However, if you do want to return it to Sky, visit Sky Live returns to get a pre-paid Royal Mail label.
Alternatively, visit the Recycle Now website and find your nearest recycling centre, where you will also be able to dispose of your Sky Live device.
Customers will still be able to use their Sky Live cameras up until December 4.
After this date, Sky Live will close, and the product will no longer be supported.
