Tom Arden was spotted having a friends and family watching party at his local pub The Grafton in Kentish Town during the early weeks of the baking contest.
Now, after nine gruelling challenges, the 31-year-old is vying to be crowned the 2025 winner.
He is up against Scottish medical student Jasmine Mitchell and fellow Londoner Aaron Mountford-Myles, who fuses French patisserie with Caribbean flavours.
The final goes out at 8pm tonight on Channel 4, when the last signature, technical and showstopper bakes will decide who is crowned the winner.
The bakers will be whipping up British iced buns, French delights and the challenge of pulling off the largest cake in the show’s history.
Tom grew up in London learning to bake scones and flapjacks with his mum and Danish granny, and has stepped back from the advertising agency he founded to pursue his love of food.
He has been bringing his creative flair to beautifully presented bakes during the show, which have earned him two Hollywood handshakes and the star baker award in biscuit week.
But he’s had a rocky couple of weeks where he’s been in the running to be sent home – with Jasmine the current favourite to win the show.
Posting on Instagram after making it through to the final, he wrote: “I cannot tell you how much I loved this week in the tent with these three and how good my nails look after another week clinging on for dear life.
“No caption is going to do this experience justice and show just how special these three people are.”
He said of being in the famous white tent for the first time: “It feels so bizarre. You’ve seen this place on your TV for the past 15 years and now suddenly we are the ones walking into it.
“Lining up to do the first walk in was the first moment I realised that WE were the 12 people that were actually going to be on the show.”
