On June 14 the two boys, aged 13 and 14, used slingshots to shoot at pigeons on Southborough Lane in Bromley.
Court documents state that the boys shot five pigeons then kicked and bashed them to death.
The boys also damaged the glass shopfront of an estate agents on the road.
The pair, who cannot be identified due to their age, were charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, possessing an offensive weapon in public and causing criminal damage.
However, the charges were withdrawn on October 16 as the case was resolved by way of an out of court disposal.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that the boys admitted the offences and were given Youth Conditional Cautions.
As part of their sentence they will be required to complete work and will be supervised by a practitioner to address their behaviour.
CPS policy to divert children away from the criminal justice system where possible but a prosecution could still be brought if they do not comply or engage with their caution.
