Havering Council has proposed the introduction of parking restrictions in Great Nelmes Chase to prevent drivers from stopping on sections of the road between 8am and 9am, and between 2.45pm and 3.45pm, on weekdays.
This would initially be a temporary scheme – which would remain in place for up to 18 months – allowing the council to observe its impact and make any necessary changes.
After this period, the restrictions could be withdrawn, modified or made permanent.

The move follows reports to the council of “obstructive and inconsiderate parking” along Great Nelmes Chase, with the hope that restrictions “may disperse these nuisance vehicles out to a wider area”.
On its website, the council said it is not considering “intermittent” sections of yellow lines across individual properties, but instead proposes “continuous restrictions” along sections of the street where residents are supportive of the measures.
The council has launched a consultation on the scheme, aiming to collect the views of Great Nelmes Chase residents until November 24.
The results will dictate the extent of any proposed restrictions along the road.
