The London Borough of Bexley has issued a traffic order for Harcourt Road in Bexleyheath and Porthkerry Avenue in Welling, due to highway improvement works.
The order, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, will take effect from October 29, 2025 and is listed on the Public Notice Portal.
The roadworks are expected to be completed within four days, although the order is valid for a period of 18 months.
The works will result in the closure of Harcourt Road, spanning its entire length up to the junction with Broadway, Bexleyheath.
Parking restrictions will also be in place along this stretch of Harcourt Road.
In Welling, Porthkerry Avenue will be closed from the junction with Hook Lane to the junction with Merlin Road.
Parking will be restricted along this section of Porthkerry Avenue.
While the works are in progress, traffic diversions will be in place.
For Porthkerry Avenue, alternative routes will be provided via Merlin Road North, Hook Lane, and reverse; and Dansington Road, Selwyn Crescent, Danson Crescent, Hook Lane, and reverse.
The diversion routes will operate in reverse as well.
The council said the restrictions will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the works.
As such, these vehicles will continue to have access to the affected areas.
