Schools have been ranked on their Attainment 8 score which is based on how well pupils have performed in up to eight qualifications including English, maths, three English Baccalaureat qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and three additional approved qualifications.
The percentage of pupils who achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs was also documented as well as the number of 2023 school leavers who stayed in education.
Progress 8 scores were unable to be calculated because there is no key stage two assessment data available to calculate the baseline for Progress 8 for these years due to Covid-19 disruption.
According to the data, Barking and Dagenham’s top performing school in the latest GCSEs was All Saints Catholic School and Technology College in Terling Road, Dagenham.
It registered an Attainment 8 score of 56.1.
It had the third highest percentage of pupils achieving grade 5 or higher in English and maths with 60.3 per cent.
The second highest Attainment 8 score in the borough was shared between Riverside School in Renwick Road, Barking and Goresbrook School in Cook Road, Dagenham – both of which scored 55.5.
Goresbrook School had the highest percentage of pupils achieving grade 5 or higher in English and maths with 64pc whilst Riverside School saw 59.1pc of students score grade 5 or higher.
The Sydney Russel School in Parsloes Avenue in Dagenham had an Attainment 8 score of 50.9.
At the other end of the list, Eastbrook School in Dagenham Road was the government funded school with the lowest Attainment 8 score with 36.9.
A total of 30.6pc of pupils here achieved a grade 5 or above in English and maths – the second lowest in the list after Brook Sixth Form and Academy in Yew Tree Avenue, Dagenham which had 26.9pc.
