Vue Bromley has curated a collection of movies throughout October that celebrate Black icons and storytelling.
The season began with Ray, the acclaimed biopic about musician Ray Charles, starring Jamie Foxx and directed by Taylor Hackford.

Jonathan Bare, general manager at Vue Bromley, said: “We’re proud to be showing a variety of content on the big screen this Black History Month and we encourage film fans from all walks of life to immerse themselves in these incredible, true stories.”
On October 15, the cinema will screen Straight Outta Compton, which tells the story of NWA and their rise to fame.
The film explores how the group used their lyrics, attitude, and talent to challenge authority and spark a cultural movement.
From October 22, audiences can watch Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

The biographical musical follows the life and career of Whitney Houston and stars Naomi Ackie, Stanley Tucci, and Ashton Sanders.
The month-long programme concludes on October 29 with Bob Marley: One Love.
Starring Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch, the film tells the story of the reggae icon’s life and music from the perspectives of those closest to him.
