Two weeks after works were supposed to have wrapped, a new completion date has not been confirmed.
Road users have been unable to have full access to the major roundabout and flyover since June 23, when it was closed for major works.
An initial completion date was forecast for September, however this plan fell through following what Transport for London (TfL) described as “unforeseeable problems” with ground conditions at the site.
This has not been the only hiccup to the major works, with Essex & Suffolk Water forced to “revise” its water mains replacement schedule due to “engineering challenges”.

Hornchurch and Upminster MP Julia Lopez is understood to have met with official bodies including TfL and Essex & Suffolk Water on October 13 to discuss the ongoing works and delays.
She wrote on Facebook: “Frustratingly, TfL were still unable to confirm when the project will be completed, though they committed to providing this by the month’s end.
“They apologised for the continued uncertainty and stressed that finishing Gallows Corner remains their number one priority.”
TfL has advised it is working “urgently” to confirm a new completion date for the works.
Scott Haxton, TfL’s director of capital delivery, said: ”We are very sorry for the disruption caused to local residents and businesses by essential work at Gallows Corner.

“The renewal of the ageing Gallows Corner flyover is essential to ensuring safety and reliability of the road network in Havering and working together with Essex & Suffolk Water to replace an ageing water main at the same time as work on the flyover will help to avoid future disruption.
“We recognise the impact that the delay to the project is having on people in the area and are urgently working with our partners to confirm a new completion date.
“We will be sharing further details about this with the local community as soon as possible.”
