The London Ambulance Service was called just after 12am today (October 15) to reports of a stabbing on Essex Road.
An ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic from the tactical response unit was sent to the scene.
A trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched.
A man was treated at the scene for a leg injury before being taken to hospital as a priority.
His condition is unknown at this stage.
Essex Road remains shut from Cross Street to Canonbury Road this morning with police at the scene.
We have contacted the Metropolitan Police for further information.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.01am today (15 October) to reports of a stabbing on Essex Road, Islington.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man for a leg injury and took him to hospital as a priority.”
