The incident happened in Sydenham Road near Tesco Express just before 8.20am today (October 14).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and the man was treated at the scene.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
We have contacted Metropolitan Police for further information.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.17am today (14 October) to reports of a person unwell on Sydenham Road, SE26.
“We sent an ambulance crew and paramedics in fast response cars. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in three minutes.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
