From Wednesday, October 8 until Friday, October 17, there are planned nighttime closures on the M25 anticlockwise between Junction 5 and Junction 4.
Over the next six days, closures will be in place between Junction 5 (Chevening Interchange) and Junction 4 (Orpington and Bromley), as well as the A21 northbound from Junction 5.
The closures will take place on weeknights from 10pm to 5:30am (11pm to 6am on Fridays) and are part of essential maintenance to repair the bridge which takes the M25 over Shacklands Road in Shoreham, including the replacement of an expansion joint.
Motorists are advised that the M25 clockwise carriageway will remain open, but those travelling anticlockwise will need to follow a diversion route.
Diversions in place
From Junction 5, take the M26 eastbound to Junction 2a (Wrotham Heath Interchange).
Continue along the A20 London Road northbound, then join the M20 westbound at Junction 2, rejoining the M25 at Junction 3.
Vehicles using the A21 northbound will also be diverted via the M25 clockwise to Junction 6 (Godstone Interchange) before following the anticlockwise diversion route.
National Highways has confirmed that the closures will not take place on weekends, unless unforeseen circumstances require contingency work from Saturday, October 18 to Wednesday, October 22, overnight.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead, check live travel information and to allow extra travel time to travel.
South east London drivers in or near Croydon, Godstone and the Bromley area, may experience increased traffic due to diverted vehicles, especially during weekday nights.
