Winners were awarded at a glitzy final ceremony at the London Hilton, Park Lane, bringing together the best of the UK’s Asian restaurant and takeaway industry.
The Bombay, located on Green Street Green in Orpington, took home the title of Kent Restaurant of the Year, recognising its decades of service and dedication to authentic Indian cuisine.
Its newly opened sister branch in Swanley, which opened in spring 2025, also claimed Newcomer of the Year, marking an impressive debut for the family-run business’s latest venture within just one year.

Part of Orpington’s dining scene since 1984, this family-run restaurant offers classic Indian dishes with a modern twist, run by brothers Kobir, Sah, and MJ Hussain, who have continued their family’s legacy into its fifth decade.
Earlier this year, the family expanded the business with the opening of The Bombay Swanley, bringing their signature tandoori, masala and regional Indian flavours to a new audience in Kent.
The Orpington site features four unique dining areas, including a family-friendly jungle-inspired room and a stylish function space for parties and events, offering both atmosphere and authenticity.

MJ Hussain said: “This double win means the world to us.
“It’s a huge shoutout to our incredible team who pour their hearts into everything we do — and to you, our amazing community, for the love and support.
“We couldn’t have done it without you, thank you.”

The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) are the UK’s leading celebration of Pan-Asian cuisine, recognising the very best restaurants, chefs and takeaways.
Winners were chosen through a rigorous process that included customer nominations, online reviews, food hygiene ratings and independent judging.
ARTA Founder Mohammed Munim praised this year’s winners, saying: “Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and finalists of ARTA 2025 – the outstanding Pan Asian restaurants, takeaways, and chefs who continue to set the benchmark for excellence in the UK’s hospitality scene.
“This industry represents more than just food; it is a celebration of the richness of multicultural Britain.”
