According to posts shared on Reddit, vintage cars and people dressed in wartime clothing were seen around the area on Sunday, October 5.
One user also shared a photo of a sign reportedly displayed at the filming location, which read: “OP Fortitude Ltd are recreating historic scenes from the war time era in both London and Berlin.
“The film tells of a plot to foil Germany into believing that the D Day landings were to happen on a different beach.
“We understand that there may be some sensitive imagery, however we hope to keep the film as historically accurate as possible.”
Companies House records show that Operation Fortitude Ltd is registered as a motion picture production company.
However, the Old Royal Naval College has not yet confirmed whether the filming is linked to this production.
According to Deadline, Fortitude is a forthcoming World War II film directed by Simon West – known for Con Air and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – and produced by Simon Afram, known for Lear Rex.
The film reportedly centres on Operation Fortitude, an Allied deception campaign that misled Nazi Germany about the timing and location of the D-Day landings.
