Personal trainer Zelah Glasson from Colliers Wood entered the Big Brother house on September 28 with the other housemates.
Data from Online Betting Guide (OLBG) shows Zelah is one of the frontrunners to win, with the same odds as fellow contestant Jenny Baird.
Zelah’s mum, Maya Glasson, told Your Local Guardian: “I’m very proud of him.
“To us, he’s always been a winner because of the way he conducts himself.
“I’m just very proud that other people can see that.
“Despite opening up dialogues like this and conducting himself so graciously, for us, he’s already won.”
Zelah came out as a transgender man to his housemates gradually, until Jenny Baird unintentionally revealed his identity to the entire house.
Zelah was up for eviction last week but won in the vote to save him against Bromley Pizza Hut manager Gani, who was evicted last Friday (October 3).
Maya previously said: “What you see in the house really shows the hidden depths of his character and his personality.
“He’s not just a great representation for the trans community; he represents qualities that transcend gender.
“Sometimes those who shout loudest aren’t necessarily the ones that are most worthy of being heard, and he’s showing that in such a thoughtful way.”
Yesterday’s (October 7) episode saw housemate Caroline Monk make a transphobic remark during a game of Truth or Dare.
Caroline said, “she’s a girl”, before taking it back, apologising, and being issued a formal warning by Big Brother.
In a clip shown on Big Brother: Late and Live yesterday, Caroline and Zelah sat down and had a conversation, which saw Zelah forgiving him.
Zelah was applauded by host Will Best for his “gracious” attitude.
Zelah was nominated only once yesterday and will therefore not face eviction on Friday (October 10).
Jake Ashton, Betting Expert at OLBG, said: “Jenny Baird’s popularity has grown rapidly thanks to her strong personality and positive edit on the nightly highlights.
“The odds now reflect genuine momentum in her favour.
“Zelah remains a consistent favourite, but Cameron’s drift shows how quickly public perception can change in Big Brother.”
Big Brother returns tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
