Honouring Our Heroes, by Ilford-based artist Jacqui Cooke, is on display at Valentines Mansion as part of Black History Month and marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
The exhibition of portraits celebrates veterans of African descent and First Nations individuals who answered Britain’s call to serve during the war.

Jacqui said: “I am deeply honoured to present my themed collection of World War veterans at Valentines Mansion.
“This exhibition is both a commemoration and an opportunity for reflection, offering a space to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of a generation whose legacy continues to shape our present.”
Admission is free and the exhibition is open from 12pm to 5pm every Sunday and Monday until October 27.
