An investigation has been launched after a woman was filmed cutting down yellow ribbons for Israeli hostages from a fence in Muswell Hill.
The video was reported to the Metropolitan Police on October 6, capturing the moment yellow ribbons were cut off the railings in Fortis Green Road.
The ribbons are thought to have been associated with hostages held in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
A lone woman appears to take a pair of scissors to the ribbons, sparking angry reactions from people behind the camera.
She was heard saying: “I’m not committing a crime.
“If I am then call the police and you let them know that you have an issue with this.”
An unidentified male was captured in the footage calling her a “disgusting little human being.”
According to a spokesperson for the Met, it has not yet been established if any offences have been committed in connection to the report.
