On Saturday, September 27, St Clare Hospice hosted its first Night Walk in Epping, drawing around 300 supporters for a 5-mile route.
The event raised more than £28,000 for the hospice.
Fit School got the night off to a lively start with a warm-up session.
Walkers then set off from Epping St John’s High School in glowing gear, including flashing LEDs and glow sticks.
The route took them past event hubs at the Carpino Lounge and the George and the Dragon, where they could stop for refreshments.

Rosie Brewer, events relationship fundraiser, was delighted with the strong turnout.
She said: “It was truly heartwarming to see so many people come together in Epping to support St Clare Hospice during the Night Walk.
“The energy, compassion, and generosity surrounding the event was nothing short of inspiring – and to have raised over £28,000 is just phenomenal.
“This amount could pay towards two weeks of night-sitting home visits by one of our Hospice at Home healthcare assistants.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who made this momentous evening so special.”
The atmosphere on the night was full of community spirit, with people of all ages coming together to enjoy the experience side by side.
Councillor David Wixley, mayor of Loughton, also took part in the Night Walk.
He added: “I was really impressed by how well-organised the walk was, and after learning that it costs £8.1 million a year to run St Clare Hospice, it’s great to hear the event was so successful in raising vital funds.”
Such events help St Clare Hospice continue to provide compassionate care to patients and their families during their most difficult times.
The walkers returned to the school to complete the route. People of all ages enjoyed the event to support a good cause.
