The Youth Enterprise Programme, a six-week initiative, aims to equip those aged 18 to 25 with essential business skills.
This scheme is a joint effort by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Academy of Success, and homebuilder Berkeley.
It will culminate in 10 entrepreneurs unveiling their concepts at the chalet-style stalls of the Christmas market in Beresford Square.
Starting on October 20, the programme includes weekly sessions, covering aspects from confidence building to trading skills.
The final session will be on November 24, after which the selected participants will get a chance to test their ideas in the real world.
Jackie Smith, councillor responsible for inclusive economy, business, skills, and Greenwich supports, said: “The Youth Enterprise Programme is a fantastic opportunity.
“Not only will young entrepreneurs learn the basics of business and join a like-minded community, but they could even run a stall at our vibrant and popular Christmas market.
“We are committed to supporting local enterprise, so we thank Berkeley for their investment and Academy of Success for delivering the learning.
“I have no doubt that the Youth Enterprise Programme will produce some great up-and-coming business talent.”
Paul Prichard, development director at Berkeley Capital, added: “This programme will give local young people real-world business skills to kickstart their business careers.
“We share the council’s passion for nurturing talent in Greenwich and are proud of the positive impact we’re driving together.”
Aspiring participants for the Youth Enterprise Programme are required to attend the Discovery Day at the Academy of Success in Equitable House, Woolwich, on October 9.
Dionne Ruddock, director at Academy of Success, said: “At the Academy of Success, we believe in creating opportunities that change lives.
“This programme will guide young people on their journey into business, equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and real-world experience to succeed with their first opportunity to trade at the Christmas market, a true celebration of enterprise, creativity, and community.”
The deadline for applications is October 20.
