Bradley Palanyandi, 25, of Harle Way, Rainham and a 15-year-old boy were charged with wounding with intent on September 27.
A second 15-year-old boy was charged with wounding with intent and possession of a flick knife on the same day. Neither teenager can be named for legal reasons.
Police were called to an assault on South Street on September 25 around 8.20pm.
Officers arrived with paramedics who treated a 13-year-old boy for a face injury.
He was taken to hospital where his condition was decided not to be life-threatening or changing.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Palanyandi was remanded into custody and the two boys were bailed.
They appeared for a first hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on September 27 and are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on October 24.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Three people have been charged following an assault in Romford.
“Police were called at around 20:20hrs on Thursday, 25 September to reports of an assault on South Street.
“Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service, where a 13-year-old boy was treated at the scene for an injury to his face.
“He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening or life-changing.
“Three people were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
“On 27, September, Bradley Palanyandi, 25 (11.12.1999) of Harle Way, Rainham and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, were both charged with wounding with intent.
“On the same date another 15-year-old boy, who also cannot be named, was charged with wounding with intent and possession of a flick knife.
“Palanyandi has been remanded into custody, while the two other boys have been bailed. They all appeared for a first hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 27 September.
“They are due to appear next at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 24 October.”
