Nikitha Johny, a registered nurse on the Winter Ward at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, received the DAISY Award for June 2025 after being nominated by a patient’s relative.
The nomination praised Ms Johny for her “dedication, quick thinking and ability to manage a complex situation”.
Giuseppe Labriola, deputy chief nurse, presented ms Johny with the award during a surprise visit on September 10.
Sharon McNally, chief nurse and deputy chief executive, said: “This nomination clearly demonstrates how Nikitha puts her patients at the heart of all she does, supporting the relatives too.
“A very heartfelt thank you for all you do to support patients and their relatives in your care.”
The DAISY Awards programme allows patients, families, and colleagues to recognise outstanding nursing care.
