It’s the first time the landmark venue has hosted a skating rink – creating a new festive attraction in the heart of the West End.
The rink will be surrounded by a Christmas market with crafts, warming food and drink stalls, music and sparkling lights.
Skate Leicester Square will be open every day throughout the season from Saturday, November 1 until January 4, 2026.
The new attraction comes courtesy of Underbelly which for the past nine years has transformed Leicester Square into a festive wonderland with live entertainment and seasonal stalls.
This year they are mixing things up with an ice-rink wrapped around the famous Shakespeare statue which will run 45 minute skating sessions that start every 15 minutes.
They’re available to book both online and for walk-in visitors with prices from £14.50 for adults, £9.50 for kids and family tickets from £40 – so there’s no excuse not to lace up your boots and hit the ice.
An optional donation will be added to each transaction in support of Angel Child Fund at The Brain Tumour Charity – created by Ed Bartlam, co-founder of Underbelly, in honour of his son Alfie, who tragically passed away from an rare brain tumour aged seven.
Ed Bartlam, co-founder of Underbelly said: “We’re excited to be launching Skate Leicester Square and bringing a beautiful and striking new addition to Christmas in Leicester Square.
“Having produced this event for the past nine years, we felt it was time to evolve and offer something fresh that still captures the magic and atmosphere audiences know and love. Introducing an open-air ice rink right in the heart of the West End marks an exciting new chapter and one that we hope will become a new seasonal favourite for Londoners and visitors alike”.
