Elizabeth Clascova Heath, a married woman born in Jamaica and living in Croydon, died on August 10.
On Thursday, September 18, an inquest was opened into her death at East London Coroner’s Court.
Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth said that on August 8 Mrs Heath presented at Newham University Hospital with abdominal pain and general unwellness which had been ongoing for several days.
However, she was discharged from the hospital on the same day.
On August 9 Mrs Heath then presented to Croydon University Hospital with pain.
On August 10 she was urgently transferred to King’s College Hospital where she died despite medical attention.
Her cause of death was given as cardiogenic shock.
“The family has raised concerns about her treatment at Newham Hospital,” Mrs Smyth said.
An full inquest is set to investigate Mrs Heath’s death, including the healthcare treatment she received from Newham Hospital, in April next year.
