Mayfield Lavender’s Epsom site, which recently unveiled its Secret Lavender Garden attraction, will become a Halloween adventure when it opens on Saturday, October 4.
The event, which will be called Malice in Lavenderland, is set to run until Friday, October 31 and will present guests with “a spooky Alice in Wonderland-themed twist.”
The Halloween event will feature a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, a White Rabbit activity trail, a ghost train, and more.
The Secret Lavender Garden’s spooky transformation will offer visitors an immersive activity trail, and an “extensive” pick-your-own pumpkin patch, as well as various surprises.
The Malice in Lavenderland adventure begins with visitors exploring the lavender rows in the pumpkin patch to find their perfect pumpkin.
Guests will then be guided by the White Rabbit through a whimsical world of “eerie enchantment,” including haunted mirrors, cobwebbed tea parties, fiendish flowers, a creepy wishing well, the Mad Hatter’s Garden, Twin Peaks, the Queen of Hearts’ Domain, and a ghost train – which is Mayfield’s beloved Looby Loo tractor train given a Halloween makeover.
Adventurers will wind their way through the garden to find the 15 mysterious, hidden stations, which each hold a secret and provide an ideal photo opportunity.
Participants will solve riddles, collect letters, and hunt for clues to help crack the final mystery and win a prize.
After the Secret Lavender Garden adventure, families can complete their Halloween experience with a visit to the seasonally-decorated Glasshouse Café for autumn-inspired treats, food, and drinks, and plenty of themed props.
Lorna Maye, owner of Mayfield Lavender said: “Our inaugural season at the Secret Lavender Garden was a huge success, offering visitors an intimate lavender experience to complement our renowned Banstead farm.
“Now, as the garden transforms into Malice in Lavenderland, we’re thrilled to invite people back to enjoy something completely different.
“It’s an immersive Halloween adventure, filled with pumpkins, puzzles, and plenty of spooky fun, which will make it the perfect autumn outing for families.”
Mayfield Lavender is also inviting local schools and nurseries to get creative and join this year’s Malice in Lavenderland scarecrow competition.
The adventure is open from 10am to 4pm, with arrival slots every hour from 10am to 3pm.
Time slots are for arrival only; visitors can stay as long as they wish until closing at 4pm.
Tickets are £5 per person for those aged four and over, and free for those under four.
Tickets can be purchased at the event, but advanced booking is recommended to avoid disappointment as entry on the day is not guaranteed and parking is prioritised for pre-bookings.
