Jag Alli, who works for All Night Cars Dartford, was driving along Green Street Green Road near the junction with Gore Road this morning (September 12), when he spotted the unusual sight.
He told the News Shopper: “I was just doing the kid run and was wondering why traffic started to slow for no reason.
“Then it was my turn at the front, and no one stopped to let it go.”
Jag described the animal as a white or albino kangaroo – possibly a wallaby – and said he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
“These aren’t the kind of animals you can buy. It looked like he was blind in one of his eyes, that’s why I didn’t grab him”, Jag added.
With cars building up behind, Jag took action to stop traffic and guide the animal to safety.
Jag explained: “At first, I tried to take a closer look, but he ran away from me.
“A lorry approached, and I got to the other end – I had no choice but to persuade him to go back to where he came from.
“He eventually found a far-left corner which he squeezed into and disappeared into the wild.”
Using his body to nudge the animal away from danger, he eventually managed to guide it into a quiet corner where it disappeared into the greenery.
“I’m usually brave with animals – I would have even put him in the boot to get him somewhere safe”, Jag told the News Shopper.
Jag filmed part of the encounter and shared it online, where the video has already been viewed nearly 70,000 times.
He added: “Nowadays, you put it on Facebook and people come forward.
“Hopefully the right people will know who owns him”.
