Slug & Lettuce in South Street is owned by the Stonegate Group and has been advertised for a new five-year tenancy.
Stonegate Group’s website described this as a “rare opportunity” to “acquire this iconic high street venue located in the heart of Romford”.
The site has a forecasted annual turnover of £865,182 with a guide rent per week of £769.
The turnover rent per year is £30,483.

A 14-metre-long bar runs down the right-hand side of the venue and the open plan layout accommodates 140 people.
Seating options include a mix of fixed booths, sofas, high stools, and bar tables with room for dancing and socialising.

An eight-metre-long bar overlooks the centre of the downstairs main floor.
The premises is located at the very centre of South Street and is 100 metres from the mainline railway station.
The premises also benefits from a “rarely available” 2am licence on Friday and Saturday nights.

The agreement allows the successful operator the same flexibility should they wish.
Stonegate Group said the ideal operator will have experience in late night venues and liaising with local authorities to build and maintain a “strong reputation as a fun, vibrant and safe place to spend an evening”.
