In August, 2,052 offences were reported to Bromley police.
The number of offences dropped slightly when compared to July, which saw 2,222 offences reported.
The most reported crime last month was violence against an individual, of which there were 513 offences.
376 of these reports didn’t involve injury, whilst the remaining 137 did.
Theft was the second most frequently reported crime in August.
Bromley saw 227 instances of shoplifting, 61 instances of theft from a person, and 22 instances of bicycle theft.
In total, there were 484 reports made to the police, 174 of which were classified as “other theft”.
The third most reported crime was vehicle offences, where there were 313 reports.
126 offences of theft or unauthorised taking of a vehicle were reported, and 155 were from people stealing something which was inside a vehicle.
The remaining 32 were related to interfering with a motor vehicle or aggravated vehicle taking.
Bromley saw 226 offences of arson and criminal damage, and 177 public order offences.
104 reports of drug offences were made to the Metropolitan Police, 86 of which were possession of, and the remaining 18 were the trafficking of.
There were 69 cases of burglary, 48 of which were into a residential property and 21 in a business environment.
Sexual offence cases closely followed, with 60 cases, 19 of which were rape.
Robbery, where an individual uses force to obtain someone’s property, saw 51 cases.
Bromley has recorded 40 cases of ‘miscellaneous crimes against society,’ covering offences that are seen as harmful to the community but don’t fall into typical crime categories.
The least reported crime in August was the possession of weapons, where there were 15 cases.
It is important to note that, while these figures show the crime offences in Bromley, it does not necessarily mean all the victims or offenders involved live in the borough.
Bromley is London’s largest borough, and the second most populated in south London, so when compared to other boroughs, it will have higher crime figures.
