Haringey Council has announced that it will be making changes to Park Road Leisure Centre and Lido to improve energy efficiency.
The council is investing more than £3.6 million in leisure facilities across the borough over the next year.
It said it inherited a backlog of maintenance and repairs when bringing Park Road, Tottenham Green Leisure Centre and Broadwater Farm Community Centre back under its direct control in October 2024.
The lido at Park Road Leisure Centre will be closed between 6am and 1pm on September 23 for the next phase of pool cover installation.
This will include staff training and the testing of the covers.
Haringey Council said the new pool covers, along with previously replaced pipework and pumps, will save more than £35,000 in running costs and reduce carbon emissions.
Councillor Emily Arkell, cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: “The lido at Park Road Leisure Centre is a much-loved community facility and I’m delighted that the next phase of the pool covers installation will be taking place later this month.
“Having already replaced the pipework and pumps and completely renovated to the teaching pool, we’re investing heavily in our leisure provision and working hard to ensure that all four of our centres are safe, well-maintained, and clean for our residents to use.
“We’re committed to ensuring that all four leisure centres continue to thrive as community hubs with the very best facilities.”
Work on the lido steps and grab rails will be done on September 15 and 16, with the pool remaining open and a reduced number of lanes available.
Repairs to gym equipment will be done on September 9.
Work is also underway in the women’s (dry-side) changing area and the steam room, with a new sauna set to be installed in late October.
