A TV show is looking for Croydon residents who have been victims of romance fraud.
Channel 4’s ‘Love Cheats’ is returning for a second series and wants to hear from people who have been affected by relationship deception.
The show aims to raise awareness about the emotional realities of romance fraud and support those who have been targeted.
The first series featured stories from people who had been conned, including victims of a fraudster who pretended to be a nobleman to swindle thousands.
It also highlighted the story of twin sisters deceived by a man posing as a firefighter, and a female fraudster who stole more than $600,000 from communities in Seattle.
The final episode in the first series showcased a man in Australia who was conned out of £7,800 by a single mum’s cancer scam.
A spokesperson for the show said: “Thanks to the courage of those who took part, the series reached and resonated with viewers, offering comfort, understanding, and a warning to others.”
“Now, Love Cheats is returning for a second series, and we’d love to connect with people in Croydon and the surrounding area who may want to share their own story in a safe and supportive space.”
