This surge in public support marks a significant increase from last year, reflecting the growing appreciation for local enterprises.
The public now has the opportunity to vote for their favourite businesses in ten different categories, with voting set to close on Monday, October 13, at 9am.
The award ceremony will be held at the Broadway Theatre in Catford in November.
The categories include Best Sustainable Business, Best Online Business, Best New Business, Best in the Creative Sector, Best High Street Business, Best Café, Best Restaurant, Best Bar or Pub, Best Independent Business, and Best Market.
Each category showcases the diversity and dynamism of the Lewisham business scene, with businesses ranging from sustainable fashion stores to family-run eateries vying for the top spot.
Notable mentions in the Best Sustainable Business category include Nonki Store, a concept store and coffee shop prioritising eco-friendly products, and Mont58 Coffee, an ethical coffee roastery promoting zero-waste brewing.

“We’re incredibly lucky to have such a vibrant mix of independent businesses across Lewisham.
“From market stalls and online ventures to high street favourites, they’re the heartbeat of our borough – working tirelessly every day to serve our community.
“The record-breaking number of nominations received this year shows just how valued they are.
“These awards are a chance to celebrate the businesses that power our local economy, create opportunities for residents, and bring real character to our neighbourhoods.
“So please get involved, show your support, and vote for the businesses that make Lewisham proud.”
