Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to Maysoule Road just after 7pm yesterday (September 10), as flames tore across the top floor of the building.
The roof was left almost completely destroyed, with images showing charred timbers and collapsed sections following the blaze.
Around 150 residents were evacuated by fire crews wearing breathing apparatus. Despite the dramatic scenes, no injuries have been reported.
The London Fire Brigade said two 32-metre turntable ladders were used as water towers to fight the flames from above, while a drone team provided commanders with aerial views of the incident.
The fire was brought under control at 11.01pm, but crews are expected to remain at the scene for hours to continue damping down.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
