The development project in Vorley Road will also see the creation of a new GP surgery and a public library, which will include an Access Islington Hub, offering in-person assistance to residents.
Islington Council said the scheme will also see improvements to public spaces, specifically Girdlestone Park.
The development will consist of three blocks, two providing social rent housing for up to 118 residents.
A council spokesperson said these low-carbon homes, ranging from one to three bedrooms, all include private balconies with views over the park or towards the city skyline.
Councillor John Woolf, executive member for homes and neighbourhoods, said: “The approval of this planning application means we can deliver more genuinely affordable, high-quality homes for local people.
“At a time when the national housing crisis continues to deepen, and the climate emergency demands urgent action, it’s vital that we build as many low-carbon, affordable homes as we can.”
Councillor Sara Hyde, executive member for health and social care, added: “This scheme will support a brand-new primary care centre delivered by NHS GPs, making it easier for local residents to access the healthcare they need in their community.”
