The improvements are part of a wider regeneration project in Chingford, which also includes new LED floodlighting and upgraded access paths.
The airhall at Rolls Park Sports Ground will allow for year-round play and improved accessibility for all users, including wheelchair players, a Waltham Forest Council spokesperson said.
The project was delivered in partnership with Chingford School of Tennis and the Lawn Tennis Association.
An open day took place on Saturday, September 6, offering free coaching sessions for all ages, an exhibition match, and the chance to explore the new facilities.
The public also had the opportunity to meet the team behind the project and learn more about future plans for the site.
The upgrades aim to improve access to sport and encourage healthy living, the council said.
