The Silver award at Enfield in Bloom is for “a welcoming and eco-friendly garden” at Southgate’s Hugh Myddelton House Care Home in Old Farm Avenue.
The garden is maintained with the help of residents as part of the home’s wellbeing programme through nature.
“Our garden is a beautiful source of activity and space,” the care home’s manager Jade Shea said.
“This award belongs to our entire community who have worked hard to make the garden flourish.”
Special mention was made about volunteer Pat Shackleton and residents’ ambassador Rosa Bertolino “for their incredible effort supporting the garden”.
Staff members Gunel Bayramova and Miguel Almeida had also “gone above and beyond” tending the garden.
The annual Enfield in Bloom competition highlights the best in gardening and the environment to encourage schools, households and organisations to “transform their outdoor spaces into green havens”.
