Emergency roadworks are underway in Lower Bedfords Road, Romford, after a main water pipe burst on Monday morning (September 8).
In a Facebook post, Essex & Suffolk Water confirmed that temporary traffic lights have been installed on the road while repair work is being carried out.
Water supply to nearby residents has not been affected, according to the water company, but one of the pedestrian traffic lights will need to be removed so the burst pipe can be repaired.

Essex & Suffolk Water said: “A main water pipe burst in the early hours of this morning in Lower Bedfords Road in Romford.
“It hasn’t affected water supply to nearby residents, but in order to make the repair, one of the pedestrian traffic lights will need to be removed, so we can get to the affected pipe.
“For safety reasons we have put temporary traffic lights in place while we carry out this work, for the safety of our colleagues and road users.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we make this repair.”
The water company did not confirm how long the roadworks would last, but Causeway one.network is reporting that the works are expected until September 17.
This is the second time a water pipe has burst along Lower Bedfords Road since the Gallows Corner closure came into force in June.
The first saw one lane of the street shut for five days while Essex & Suffolk Water teams worked to fix the leak.
Lower Bedfords Road is one of the main roads along the northern diversion route for the Gallows Corner closure, which follows Noak Hill Road, Lower Bedfords Road, Havering Road and Pettits Lane North.
