WagWorks comes to Islington Square in October and will include a doggy spa with tiled tubs and fluffy towels, temperature controlled playparks, and a ‘scent den’ with plenty to chew and sniff.
Based in an 8,000 sq ft space in Islington’s former postal sorting office, the club will offer everything from grooming, daycare and Vet-led healthcare to a top class education.
WagWorks has in-house vets who look after members’ healthcare. (Image: WagWorks) Founders Jamie, Rhi and Ollie are lifelong dog lovers and city dwellers who opened their original site in Fulham to create a new type of canine care where members can get support and services under one roof.
They aim to make life easier for urban dog owners and their pets with safe and enriching spaces especially designed around canine needs and wellbeing.
Design features include non-slip flooring, calming colours and dog friendly spatial flow, while facilities include indoor playparks, a puppy socialisation area, and cosy sleeping stables with dim lighting and relaxing music.
The state of the art grooming studio is like “a doggy spa retreat” with tiled tubs, super fluffy towels, and expert therapists to ensure the pampering is stress free.
And the scent den has plenty to sniff, lick and chew for the ultimate canine enrichment.
Experts on hand to support every aspect of a dog’s wellbeing include in-house behaviourist Winkie Spiers who has more than 20 years experience in canine education.
She offers 1:1 training sessions tailored to the individual dog, as well as puppy classes, and group classes such as a confidence building Café Simulation Workshop.
In terms of daycare, WagWorks matches members with similar energy levels and personality levels and offers several sleeping areas with a choice of mid morning or mid afternoon nap times so they don’t go home overstimulated.
The in-house vets are all about preventative and proactive healthcare, and offer same-day appointments while WagWorks allows members to use the daycare service when needed rather than committing to regular days.
