Reed Pond Walk Copse, located in Rise Park, was formally dedicated on Saturday, August 30, becoming the ninth village green in Havering and the fourth to be designated this year.
The site joins Gooshays Green, Hitchin Close, and Priory Green in Harold Hill.
Councillor Ray Morgon, leader of Havering Council, said: “I’m so pleased to be able to see the local support for our village green programme, and the wider benefits that protecting these much-loved green spaces for future generations means to everyone.
“It’s not just about having a local space to look at, valuable public spaces such as Reed Pond Walk Copse Village Green have a positive effect on residents’ wellbeing, too.”
The dedication event was attended by members of the community, ward councillors Philippa Crowder, Robby Misir, and Osman Dervish, as well as Graham Williamson, cabinet lead for development and regeneration.
Cakes and refreshments were provided by the councillors and community lead Linda Jupp.
