The band was set to perform two final shows at the stadium next week Sunday (September 7) and the following day (September 8).
However, Coldplay has released a statement today (August 30) announcing that planned industrial action on the Underground has forced them to reschedule.
The statement reads: “Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get 82,000 people to the concern and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of September 7 and September 8.
“To avoid cancelling the shows, our only option is to reschedule.”
As a result, the September 7 show has now been moved a day before on Saturday (September 6).
The September 8 show will move a few days later that week to Friday (September 12).
All tickets will remain valid for their rescheduled date.
Anyone able to attend the new proposed dates do not need to take any action to secure updated tickets as existing tickets will be valid for entry.
For those unable to attend, a full refund can be claimed as long as people contact their point of purchase before noon on Tuesday (September 2).
Tube strikes on the Underground are taking place from September 5 to September 11.
On September 5, there will be no service on the Underground after 6pm.
From then until September 11, there will be no service on Underground or DLR lines all day.
Coldplay is still expected to continue with their other performances at Wembley as normal today (August 30), tomorrow (August 31), on Wednesday (September 3) and Thursday (September 4).
The statement concluded: “We’re very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes.”
