Currently, more than 17 million people in the UK have a Boots Advantage Card, equating to almost a quarter of the population (24%).
For every £1 you spend, you earn three points on your card.
Each point is worth 1p, so for example, 1234 points on your Advantage Card equals £12.34 to spend.
You can then use your points value instead of cash at Boots.
The rule that could lose Boots customers’ Advantage Card points
But Boots customers are being warned that their Advantage points will expire unless they use their card within a year.
Compare Banks explains: “Advantage points will expire unless you use your card for Boots purchases within a year.
“Before June of 2022, points didn’t expire for two years, but this is no longer true.
“You need to use your card within a year so your points don’t expire from inactivity.”
Simple ways to shop sustainably and save money
The finance experts added: “If your card is inactive for four years, your Boots account will be closed.”
How to avoid losing your Boots Advantage Card points
So you don’t lose your Boots Advantage Card points, simply make a purchase online or in-store at least once every 12 months.
Or, once you have saved up enough points, you can spend them.
A recent study by Boots found that the typical Advantage Card member spends their points twice a year, with the majority (74%) saving up their points for at least six months.
