Partou Rosendale Road Day Nursery and Pre-school in Rosendale Road, Dulwich, was given the rating following the recent inspection.
The nursery, registered in 2006, provides childcare and early years education to families in Dulwich from All Saints Church.
The Ofsted report praised the nursery’s “fantastic” team and “welcoming and inclusive” environment.

Parents also spoke positively about the nursery, saying that their children enjoyed attending and had made good progress.
The staff were described as “fantastic” by parents.
The nursery was commended for its “challenging curriculum” that supports children to make good progress in their development.
Inspectors found that activities were “carefully planned and sequenced” to build on children’s skills and follow their interests.
The report also highlighted the nursery’s support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, which was judged as “good.”
Staff were found to work closely with parents and make timely referrals to ensure that children receive the specialist support they need.
The nursery was also praised for its efforts to develop a love of books and reading among all children.
Parents are supported to develop children’s enjoyment of books at home by accessing the nursery’s well-resourced book lending library.

The report also noted that parents appreciate the support that staff give to help guide their children’s learning at home.
They feel staff have gone “above and beyond” to support their children’s progress.
Safeguarding arrangements at the nursery were deemed to be “effective.”
The inspector commented that there is an “open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.”
The Ofsted inspection included a learning walk of the entire setting, conversations with team members, children and families, observing a group activity, and an examination of the nursery’s documentation including evidence of how staff suitability has been assessed.
